Asphalt Binder Being Installed

This past week, the contractor completed the concrete curb & gutter, concrete sidewalk, and concrete driveway installation. The contractor also performed the fine grading of the aggregate base course. The 1st layer of asphalt binder was installed on Friday.  The 2nd layer of asphalt binder layer is scheduled to be installed on Saturday, July 27th. The contractor also performed some additional storm sewer improvements behind the concrete curb & gutter.

Next week, the contractor will complete the storm sewer improvements, adjust the existing manholes, and perform landscape grading behind the concrete curb & gutter, around sidewalks, and storm sewers. The asphalt paving contractor will install the asphalt driveways.

It is anticipated the landscape contractor will begin grading and installing topsoil prior to sod installation. Sod installation will not be performed until the fall when growing conditions are more favorable.

Once all the landscape grading and topsoil installation is completed, the final lift of asphalt surface will be installed and the pavement markings will be completed.

The contractor is anticipating to work on Saturday, July 27th starting at 7:00 AM. The contractor will be installing the 2nd lift of asphalt binder.

The southbound detour along Washington Road between Norwood Terrace and Central Road will be in effect for the project entirety, around August 15th.

Thank you in advance for your patience utilizing the posted detour routes and during the construction operations.

With the concrete curb & gutter and asphalt pavement installed, the project is starting to come to a close. The dust and bumpy roadway conditions are now behind us. We thank you again for your patience and understanding throughout the entire construction process.
